Initiative Based Development™
We develop and employ an initiative based approach because research and our experience demonstrates that leaders develop best when they are working in real projects with real feedback from their teammates. These initiatives need to be important enough to demand people's best efforts, and for the company to hold itself accountable for results. The teams achieve many times the investment with real business results.
We are development focused because the real-time cycle of performance -- observation -- feedback -- improvement as it occurs in initiative-based development teams is, simply, the most effective way to develop leaders.
Our Recent Engagements
Global Pharmaceutical
We have enjoyed a multi-year relationship with a large pharmaceutical company. We are currently completing a very innovative leadership development pipeline program in Japan where we are working with their entire senior management and HR team. As a part of the program we are implementing Initiative Based Development™ and are working to dramatically improve recruiting, planned movement, talent assessment, succession planning, performance management, and other key systems.
At the same time we are helping leadership to:
- Build a new global leadership model.
- Reinforce cultural beliefs, values, and practices.
- Create a genuine learning community.
- Connect leadership development with empowering others to succeed.
- Test and develop the next generation of potential leaders.
The pharmaceutical company gives us their highest marks, telling us they are absolutely delighted with this effective, integrated program.
